I am writing to you to propose a magazine investment in my magazine called ‘premises’ which is about rock/indie music for young people aged between the ages of 15 to 20 years of age, the reason for the choice of my target audience is because the content is mainly aimed at that age of readers.

The content in the magazine is a lot interviews from up and coming bands and famous bands that are key to the target audience, guides to festivals,product reviews and the latest clothes.The magazine is going to have few major social network accounts like Instagram,Facebook and twitter so that we can create a larger fan base and can have online updates that people can see on the go or on their mobile phones.

The media institution that already produces the magazine but doesn’t advertise the  magazine as much as the large.My reason for the choice of my magazine institution is because they already produce large music magazine like kerrang etc.

the reason i have chosen the name premises is because it is another name for the places gigs happen like when you will see a sign that says something not being allowed on the premises which is were the name has originated from.

the same font but will change colours to suit the main image on the front cover and will also have a house style through out the issues.

The contents page that i will be analysing is from Q music magazine.The editor has used house style on the contents page so that the contents page doesn't look unprofessional and because i have read this magazine i know that the same colours and font are consistently used through out the publication.The editor has used large number on each image so show significant pages in the magazine, maybe because the are the most important stories in the magazine.
The logo has been featured at the top of the contents page so when you see it you know what the logo is from.An editors letter features at the bottom of the contents page to tell the reader about some of the editors background and about what is going to feature in this issue of the Q magazine.On the left side of the contents page there is different page numbers and also under them it has a small piece of information thats is probably about the stories or some extra information that isn’t in the articles.Some of the bad things on the contents page is there isn’t many images and because of this it doesn’t really effect the reader in anyway and also one of the images i very large which takes up most of the room on the page.
Because Q magazine has a large fan base they can always use this house style and also Q usually features some of the biggest artists and bands in the music business and because of this people will still want toe by the magazine.

i will be analysing a double page spread from NME, featuring ‘my chemical romance’.The editor has used a capital letter for the start of the text so that the reader will know where the article has started.At the top of the second page there is a pull out quote which is used because the editor wanted to break down the text instead of putting it in the article, Also another reason why the editor will have done this is because the editor wants to give a preview of the article that will be in large font so that it the first thing that you will read when you turn the page.also the pull quote acts as the headline of the two page spread.

on the right hand side of the second page the editor has made a separate column because they have wanted to add extra information that might have some history about the bands background or any upcoming gigs in the UK.in the article the writer has used a stand first because they have wanted to lead you into the article in a small sentence, reasons for this is because this is also giving you a preview like to the piece of text.

on the first page of the article there is a small banner that says ‘world exclusive’ because they are trying to say that no other magazine has this interview with the band and they have it exclusively to them so fans of the band will go out to by it because there the only one that has it so they will buy it.also there is a grey box that hold some more information which also works in the same way as an extra column which is directly above the column.

The magazine that i will be analyzing is NME music magazine featuring ‘tyler the creator’ on the front cover. The main colours on the are red,white and gold which all show the connotations of the royal wedding which is mentioned at the top of the page, gold is associated with words like ‘rich’ and ‘expensive’ and sometimes ‘royalty’.Also you will can associate this magazine with the royal wedding because tyler the creator is dressed in the crown and jewels but in a kind of way it shouldn’t be worn.  The first thing on the front cover that would attract the reader is the large red writing in the middle with the header saying ‘tyler the creator’ and because it is white background it stands out from the image and back of the image do that u can see it first.On the front cover there is a pull quote from the article in the magazine form tyler thats says ‘i don’t give a t sh*t about the royal wedding which makes the reader interested about the article and want to buy the magazine so they can read on.  At the top of the front cover  its says ‘god save us from Wills & Kate’ which tells us that there is some sort of backlash from the younger generation of artists and older ones like the ‘sex pistols’ and the doors who went against establishment. 

In the top right hand corner there is a small pug that says free inside, this is for a free guide to the NME festivals 2011 and when the reader notices this they may believe that they are getting a gift that my persuade the reader to by the magazine.there is also a small advertisment for odd futures UK tour.  The editor has put some of the sub stories at the bottom, because they are the last think that will be seen on the front cover because they are not as important as the main story. the house style has been consistently through out the front cover because if the font would not look professional and it wouldn’t look right with all the different texts.  The main image of tyler gives the impression that he is rebelling against the law/government, the reason for this kind of image is because some of his music not correct with what other people think and what he raps about is very provocative, Also the main image links to the other stories about the ‘sex pistols’ and ‘the doors’ because they also rebelled against the law in some of their music like the sex pistols which had a song that talked about killing the queen because the were against the establishment. Looking at the front cover it has been made very successfully because the colours have been used to match with the main image and the mast head and also at the time the magazine had been released the royal wedding was taking place so the editor has made a very good, funny cover for the occasion.

according to my results most of the people who took part in the survey took more creative subjects in college because of the music they listen which is most commonly a mixture of different generes of music from rock to hip hop.looking at my results most teenagers tend to go out with the freinds in there spare time rather than do sports or other activities.looking at one of my questions where i asked if they go to festivals, a majority dont go to festivals but plan to in the future.
